Shave bars are an exciting add to your shower, because they present an opportunity to replace a waste-producing household product. This recipe uses both sodium hydroxide (used to make bar soap) and potassium hydroxide (used to make liquid soap) to produce a unique shaving bar consistency that is quite different from a bar of hands and body soap.
This bar is designed for your shower shave experience. Its oval shape is easy to grasp while you work the lather up to your desired foam volume and density. If you prefer a lighter, fluffier consistency, add a little more water. If you prefer a denser lather, use a little less water.
And the bar will last a surprisingly long time! A vegan offering.
